About The Event
The CDRI’s Biennial Report on Global Infrastructure Resilience underscores the essential political and economic incentives for investing in resilient infrastructure. Highlighting benefits such as avoided asset loss, reduced service disruption, improved public services, and environmental gains, the report provides a comprehensive analysis of why resilient infrastructure is a prudent investment. To advance this crucial dialogue and mobilize the necessary capital, CDRI is organizing a series of virtual DRI Dialogues. These dialogues aim to present multiple dimensions of infrastructure resilience and enhance understanding of comparable financial risk metrics to inform decision-making by governments, investors, and infrastructure providers.
The inaugural webinar, held on July 9, focused on the economic importance of infrastructure resilience by delving into the key messages of the Biennial Report. The second DRI Dialogue is scheduled for 20 August from 6-7 pm IST. This session will utilize practical examples and instances to discuss the applicability of the fully probabilistic risk model "GIRI" in estimating risks for infrastructure assets concerning major geological and climate-related hazards. Experts and country representatives will share insights on how the tool is being used by them in their work and has the potential to inform decision-making in the development of national resilience policies, strategies, and plans.
