Antofagasta City's Rainwater Drainage and Evacuation Master Plan was updated under the AdaptaClima Project, which is an initiative of the Ministry of the Environment. The project is financed by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean's (CAF) Implemented Adaptation Fund and it is executed by UNDP. This activity was carried out in close coordination with the Ministry of Public Works of Chile. For this masterplan, updated information for Antofagasta regarding physical parameters and urban development, including climate projections for the years 2035 and 2065, was incorporated into the analysis. Information gathered from the recent hazard events such as the one that occurred in the northern part of the country was also taken into consideration.
