This white paper summarizes some of the key challenges that need to be addressed to strengthen global infrastructure resilience. It draws on evidence from the new Global Infrastructure Risk Model and Resilience Index to highlight how these challenges manifest in different income and regional geographies and infrastructure sectors. It then focuses on a range of opportunities and pathways to strengthen infrastructure resilience, including through the upscaling of Nature-based Infrastructure Solutions (NbIS), the strengthening of infrastructure governance and the mobilization of private capital.
