About The Event

CDRI organized a DRI Dialogue Series: ECHOES- Perspectives on Mountain Infrastructure Resilience from March – June 2024. The three-part webinar series aimed to:

  • Identify avenues for incorporating risk-informed decision-making in planning and implementing disaster resilient infrastructure in mountain regions.
  • Highlight diverse interventions, innovations, and good practices for integrating resilience in the planning, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure in mountain regions.
  • Explore opportunities for collective action on integrating DRI in policies, guidelines, regulations, tools and technologies, and capacity development.

The final dialogue of the series, Dialogue 3 on “Prioritizing Investments for Resilient Infrastructure in Mountain Regions” was organized on 14 June 2024. This dialogue looked comprehensively at the interlinkage between climate change adaptation, infrastructure resilience and investments. The session looked at existing and envisaged investments for building and rebuilding community and large-scale infrastructure, including needs and opportunities for resilience integration in mountain regions.

The experts emphasized on collective action to enable:

  • Institutional mechanisms to assess, mitigate and manage climate risks
  • Data and information sharing to support climate action
  • Access to international funding for climate resilience
  • Locally led adaptation informed by traditional knowledge and nature-based solutions
