Impacts and Risks of Climate Change on Public Coastal Ports in Brazil
The study “Impacts and Risks of Climate Change in Brazilian Public Coastal Ports”, developed within the scope of the Technical Cooperation Agreement between ANTAQ and GIZ, the German Technical Cooperation Agency, presents the main climate hazards, risks and impacts of climate change in the main public coastal ports in Brazil with the aim of preparing a ranking of the ports analyzed under the greatest current and future climate risk for the years 2030 and 2050. Thus, the study, part of axis 1 of the aforementioned Cooperation Agreement, presented a climate risk assessment for 21 public ports in Brazil and the possible adaptation measures to be implemented to increase resilience to the impacts of climate change. Furthermore, in the second phase of the study, customized studies were carried out for the ports of Aratu/BA, Rio Grande/RS and Santos/SP.
